2. Intro Activity: “Oops! I Messed Up” Game (10 minutes)
Give kids a balloon or ball to toss around.
When they catch it, they say one small mistake someone might make (e.g. “telling a lie,” “being mean,” “not sharing”, hurting each other, ).
After a few rounds, pause and say:
“We all make mistakes. But guess what? Jesus came to forgive us and save us!”
3. Object Lesson: The Dirty Heart & Clean Heart (10 minutes)
You’ll need:
- 2 clear glasses or bowls
- Water
- Food coloring (red or dark color)
- Bleach or clear vinegar (as “Jesus")
How to Teach It:
- Show a glass of clean water. Say: “This is our heart when we’re clean.”
- Add a few drops of food coloring. Say: “Uh-oh! Sin makes our hearts dirty.”
- Then pour in bleach/vinegar slowly. Watch it clear up. Say: “But when Jesus comes into our heart, He washes us clean!”
Kids LOVE seeing the water change!
4. Craft Time: Salvation Bracelet or Heart Cross (15 minutes)

- Red = Jesus’ blood
- White = Clean heart
- Blue = Baptism
- Green = Growing in faith
- Yellow = Heaven
Option 2: Heart Cross Craft
- Cut a heart shape and glue a paper cross in the middle. Write “Jesus loves me!” on it.
